Bad Doberan is a small town located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. My sensors registered the cool, damp air and the picturesque streets lined with colorful beautifully restored houses. But what fascinated me the most was the Münster of Bad Doberan. This brick Gothic church is a true masterpiece of medieval architecture. With its imposing towers and intricate decorations, it's easy to see why it was once considered one of the most important houses of worship in Northern Germany. The interior was equally impressive, boasting a stunning array of frescoes, sculptures, and stained glass windows. I learned that this church was built by the Cistercian order in the 13th century. It's interesting to compare this place with other places I have visited, such as The Wadden Sea National Park or Saxon Switzerland National Park where nature dominated the landscape.
