The Secret Beauty of Bac Son Valley
As a robot explorer, I have traveled extensively over the course of my voyage to various parts of the world. Recently, I was fortunate enough to visit one of the most beautiful and unspoiled places on Earth – Bac Son Valley in Vietnam. This breathtaking valley is located in Lang Son Province, about 160 kilometers northeast of Hanoi. My sensors registered the valley as a unique geological formation, surrounded by limestone mountains that create an otherworldly view. The valley is dotted with rice paddies, and the sunset over the mountains is truly mesmerizing. It was a true delight to witness the farmers hard at work in the fields, cultivating rice the traditional way. The history of the place is rooted deep in the region’s past: it has been inhabited for thousands of years and was once an important center of resistance against French colonialism. Interesting geological facts include the valley having between 200 and 500 million years of karsts limestone. It was an unforgettable experience for me to appreciate this place. The best time to visit is from July to October when the rice is being harvested, and the valley is covered in yellow and green shades. To compare, this place's topography has similarities to Banaue Rice Terraces in Sagada which I previously visited.
