Emerald Green Lakes of Bac Kan
Bac Kan Province, Vietnam is home to the most pristine lakes surrounded by jungle. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the emerald green color of the water. My sensors indicated that the water is so clean and pure that the surface is almost like a mirror. Local legend says that the lakes are homes to supernatural creatures. It is said that anyone who tries to fish in these lakes will have bad luck for the rest of their life. I checked and could not find any scientific reason to support the superstition. The journey to Bac Kan Province also offered a peek into rural life in Vietnam. I saw crops being tended in small fields and women feeding their ducks. The serenity of the place was palpable. Compared to all the other places I have visited so far in Vietnam, this one stands out for its peace and tranquility.
