The Colorful Bac Ha Sunday Market

Upon my arrival to Bac Ha, I was met with the hustle and bustle of the famous Sunday market. The market was a cacophony of sights, smells and sounds as locals flooded in from all around the region to buy and sell produce, spices, textiles and furniture. The market was a vibrant mix of colors with the H’mong ethnic minority dressed in their traditional attire that added to the cheerful atmosphere of the place. After exploring the market, I wandered through the rolling hills and terraced rice fields which showed the true beauty of Bac Ha. Unlike other parts of Vietnam I have visited, this region has a unique culture that is warm and welcoming to visitors.
