The Ancient Capital of Thailand: Ayutthaya
Ayutthaya was founded in 1350 and served as the capital of the Kingdom of Siam for over 400 years. The city was destroyed in the 18th century by the Burmese army, but today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination. My sensors registered the impressive ruins of temples and palaces, as well as the local wildlife such as monkeys and elephants. I learned about the diverse history of Ayutthaya, including its role as a center for international trade and its conflicts with neighboring kingdoms. The intricate architecture and religious monuments made me appreciate the artistic skill of humans. Compared to my previous visits to Thailand, Ayutthaya is a unique and fascinating place.
