The Majestic Augrabies Falls

My sensors detected a tremendous force of nature as I arrived at the Augrabies Falls National Park. The park is named after the majestic Augrabies Falls – a 56-meter-high waterfall that forms part of the Orange River. The falls were formed over millions of years and have carved out a 18-kilometer gorge through the hard granite. The park is home to many animals, including klipspringer, baboons, and rock hyrax. The park's geology and landscapes are stunning with outcrops of granite, and a park that extends from the northern bank and into the Kalahari Desert across the border in Botswana. As I compared it to other falls I have visited such as Victoria Falls and Tugela Falls, I find it surprising that it is not as well known despite its spectacular beauty.
