The Mighty Falls of Augrabies
My sensors registered the thundering sound of water plunging down the granite cliffs. The falls are over 180 feet high and stretch over half a mile wide. The name 'Augrabies' is derived from the Khoi word 'Aukoerebis' meaning 'place of great noise'. The park also has unique geological formations including moon-like landscapes where rocks are eroded into strange shapes by the river. The park is home to various animals like klipspringer, springbok, and baboons. I compared this place with the Niagara Falls and found the Augrabies Falls equally grand in their own unique way.
