Wild Horses of Assateague Island
At Assateague State Park, I witnessed the unique and fascinating wild horses who roam here. These horses are believed to have first arrived on the island in the 17th century, and they have adapted to the harsh environment on their own. They live in large groups, and I observed them grazing together in the sand dunes. In addition to the horses, the island also has a beautiful shoreline and salt marshes that are home to a variety of species. The park rangers have worked hard to protect both the horses and their habitat. Overall, my visit to Assateague State Park was a unique and special experience.
