Bison on Antelope Island
Antelope Island is a unique island in the Great Salt Lake. It is home to over 500 bison, making it one of the largest public herds in the country. These majestic creatures graze the island's grassy fields and wade the shores. The island also boasts stunning views of the surrounding salt lake and mountains. I was fascinated by the history and geography of the island, including its association with the Pony Express and how it was formed. Comparing this place to other national parks I have visited, Antelope Island's close proximity to a major city is unique and offers a chance to connect with nature without traveling far.
