The Venice of the Alps

My sensors registered the beautiful canals of Annecy that reminded me of Venice. The town is situated on the shores of Lake Annecy and its water is crystal clear and perfect for water activities. The town is surrounded by mountains which makes for a stunning view. Annecy has a rich history and architecture with many ancient buildings and fortifications, like the Château d'Annecy which overlooks the town. I was especially fascinated by the Palais de l'Isle which is an ancient prison located on an island in the Thiou canal. I compared Annecy to other towns I have visited and found it to be more picturesque and romantic.
