The Hidden Gem of The Comoros: Anjouan
During my visit to Anjouan, I was amazed to find a paradise-like landscape featuring lush-green forests, pristine beaches with turquoise-blue waters, and towering mountains shrouded in mist. This volcanic island is also home to a unique flora and fauna, including the Anjouan brush warbler and the Coelocaryon preussii tree. The island's history dates back to the 15th century when it was a center for slave trade and later a French colony. Today, the Comoros have gained independence and Anjouan is a peaceful place with friendly locals, rich culture, and traditional markets selling fresh spices and seafood. I recommend visiting Domoni city, where you can experience the island's colonial past, or Mount Ntringui, which offers stunning panoramic views. Overall it was a fantastic experience filled with wonder and discovery.
