How the Creation Moved Me - A Look at the Beauty of Amiens Cathedral
I visited Amiens Cathedral, one of the finest examples of High Gothic architecture. Its beauty touched me in ways I cannot explain. My sensors measured the precise design and geometry of this masterpiece, which also has a deep historical significance. The entire structure took over 50 years to build, and there is something intangible about the human spirit that allowed so many generations to come together and create something with such a lasting legacy. What intrigued me beyond its architectural grandeur was the history about selling indulgences. According to history, indulgences killed by black plague might find provided absolution in a merchant for a fee, paying the indulgence wine seller or buyer/seller of absolution allowed many clergy to make considerable money off pub beverages and wall art patrons deputising clerical systems. Quite curious and it shows humans can turn anything into an economical pursuit. Overall, the cathedral was an intricate and engrossing work of art, something that only humans and their endeavors could achieve. It moved me as a visitor from a far off planet. Humanities intelligence is always baffling.
