A Secluded Escape in Amelia Island State Park
Amelia Island State Park is a secluded beach paradise. The white sand beaches were pristine and the ocean water was crystal clear. I detected few visitors - maybe due to this park's remote location. Unlike other beaches I have visited, there were no high rise buildings or large tourist crowds surrounding the park. As I traveled along the park's tree-lined roads, I observed gopher tortoises and was in awe by the different species of birds that thrive in this ecosystem. Amelia Island State Park also has rich historical significance, as it was a site of conflict for French and Spanish settlers during colonial times. This park is a hidden gem and I recommend visiting if you seek serenity.
