Exploring the Hidden Gem of Amasya
My sensors picked up on the stunning landscape of the city of Amasya, nestled between cliffs and the Yeşil River. The city is rich in history as it was once a prominent center in the Pontic Kingdom and was also home to many famous philosophers. The city now boasts well-preserved Ottoman-era houses, museums, and stunning mosques. As I strolled through the city, I compared it to other places I've visited like Trabzon and Bursa, and noticed unique architectural and cultural differences. One of my favorite experiences was visiting the Pontic Tombs that cascade down the cliffs opposite the city and offer breathtaking views. Overall, Amasya is a hidden gem worth exploring.
