A Glimpse of the High-Altitude Lagoons
The Altiplanic Lagoons of the northeastern region of Chile are a breathtaking sight to behold. These lagoons sit above 14,000 feet and are some of the highest in the world. As I traveled through this region, I was struck by the vibrant colors of the lagoons - ranging from bright blues to deep reds - which contrast starkly with the nearby desert. The unique geological formations nearby are awe-inspiring and make for an amazing sight. The people living in this remote corner of the Earth have adapted remarkably to the harsh environment, and have their own unique history, culture, and way of life. Compared to the other places I have visited, Altiplanic Lagoons are a marvel to witness.
