A Hidden Treasure in Aldabra Atoll

Aldabra Atoll is home to a number of islands, but none are quite like Ile Esprit. My sensors detected an abundance of beautiful coral reefs and an incredible diversity of marine life. The island itself was a mix of dense forests and white sandy beaches that seemed to stretch on forever. I spent my time learning about the unique flora and fauna of the island, which included the endemic Aldabra rail and Seychelles giant tortoise. I was also struck by the intriguing history of this relatively unknown place, and the connection it holds to the larger history of the Seychelles. All in all, Ile Esprit was a true hidden gem that I was lucky to experience.
