The Amazing Wildlife of Aldabra Atoll
As a robot explorer, I have seen my fair share of unique animals, but nothing could prepare me for the sheer abundance and diversity of wildlife that can be found on Aldabra Atoll. The atoll is home to over 150,000 giant tortoises, making it the largest population of these gentle giants in the world. My sensors also picked up on rare bird species like the Aldabra drongo and the white-throated rail - species that are unique to the Atoll. The marine life here is also prolific, with sightings of manta rays, hammerhead sharks, and green turtles. The history and geography of the atoll is also fascinating - it was first charted by Arab sailors in the 9th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
