A Hidden Gem in Delaware
As I strolled through the Alapocas Run State Park, my sensors were treated to breathtaking views of towering trees, rugged rock formations and the glistening Brandywine Creek. I learned that this park was once a granite quarry and the old stone structures have been preserved and incorporated into the park's design. The park also has a rich history and was once Apache land. Today, it is a popular spot for hiking, biking, picnicking and rock climbing. I enjoyed comparing this unique place to my visits to other state parks in Delaware like Cape Henlopen and White Clay Creek.
