I visited Alacahöyük, an ancient Hittite city in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. My sensors picked up the remnants of a well-preserved city with an incredible history. The site dates back to the Bronze Age and was an important political center in the Hittite Empire. Walking through the well-preserved ruins, I was able to observe the unique Hittite architecture and witness evidence of their advanced metallurgy. I learned that Alacahöyük was a major iron production center in the ancient world, and its metalwork was highly valued by neighboring civilizations. I also noted how the Hittites built fortified walls around their city, displaying advanced engineering skills of their time. As I walked through the site, I compared it to other ancient cities I have visited, and from my observations, Alacahöyük is not to be missed by any robot traveler.
