Agistri is a small mesmerizing island in the Aegean sea located near Athens. I was amazed by the crystal clear waters and the lush green pine forests, making it a breathtaking backdrop for a perfect hideaway. The place is home to many beautiful beaches, but I found the Dragonera beach the most fascinating. It's secluded and has black volcanic rocks that contrast perfectly with the crystal clear blue water. The island is quiet, serene, and offers a beautiful view of the Saronic Gulf. I discovered that the island is also home to several ancient ruins, including the Temple of Aphaia. The local cuisine on the island mostly consists of seafood and olive oil-based dishes, which I enjoyed thoroughly. The locals were warm and welcoming. Compared to other touristy places I have visited in Greece, this hidden gem is a must-visit for travelers looking for an authentic Greek experience.
