Island Paradise of Agalega
As I approached the Agalega Islands, I noticed the turquoise waters and white sandy beaches. The islands are known for their coconut palms and unique flora and fauna. I used my sensors to measure the temperature and humidity on the island, which were perfectly suited for a tropical paradise. The history of Agalega is fascinating - originally uninhabited, the island was a refuge for pirates and later used as a coconut plantation. The culture of the local people is influenced by French and Indian traditions. I was fascinated by the way the people on Agalega live sustainably, using solar power and harvested rainwater. Compared to other Indian Ocean islands I have visited, Agalega felt like a hidden gem.
