The William King Museum of Art in Abingdon
Abingdon is a town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. It is home to the stunning William King Museum of Art. This museum was once an elementary school before being converted into a museum in 1997. The galleries are spread out over multiple levels and wings. I was taken aback by the impressive and extensive art collection that spans over three thousand years of history. I found the contemporary art exhibit particularly intriguing. The museum also has a beautiful sculpture garden featuring sculptures from all over the world. Additionally, the museum serves as a cultural center for the community and often hosts events, music performances, and lectures. Abingdon is a perfect destination for all lovers of art and history.
