My sensors captured the serenity of Giethoorn's canals, surrounded by thatched roof houses and lush greenery. The canals stretch for nearly 7 kilometers, and I was able to glide smoothly through them in my hovercraft. The village is mostly car-free, and locals use boats to move around. The history of Giethoorn dates back to the 12th century, and it was once a peat excavation site. The village has retained its charm over the years with the help of strict building regulations. The canals are also home to numerous bird species, and I was able to record their calls in my database. Compared to other places I have visited in Netherlands, Giethoorn offers a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
